A Checklist of What to Bring is emailed  prior to the  retreat. This list has been compiled over the years from attendees and  you will find it quite helpful. To help you plan, here's a short list:

• Your  sewing machine. Or contact us if you need to rent one for the weekend.

• Projects you want to work on 

Workshop Supplies: We make it easy for you to pack and not run around before your trip!  There  is no long supply list & prep work for the workshops. A short Tool list will be provided. All supplies  you need will be in the kit, with the exception of piecing thread. We know everyone's machine has their favorite! 

• Berry Hill is an 1800s mansion on 650 acres
• Reserve your spacious sleeping room at our group rate by calling Berry Hill at (434) 517-7000. We have rooms blocked for you, so they may show sold out on line.
• Both Single and Double accommodations available

Check into our quilting oasis for the long weekend. We open at 1 for early bird set up. Enjoy cookie break and start sewing.

Dinner is on your own Thursday or join us for a delicious buffet and hands on workshop. (Optional Add On) 

5:30 - 8:30 pm Buffet Dinner & Hands On Presentation. We have a certified Laura Heine instructor who will be showing you the steps to help you create your own small 16" x 20" Laura Heine collage quilt! Choice of 6 designs with all materials and $25 pattern with 3 designs included. Details under Add Ons.

After breakfast, we will be making a zippered project bag using Giucy Giuce fabrics by Andover of course. Perfect size for organizing Saturday's project! We are sew glad you are here, the Project Bag is our welcome gift to you! All you need to have ready is a 4.5 square block (4" finished) or piece of focus fabric to create a pocket. a block from Giucy's Alphabet Sew Along  or a mini pattern would be perfect

Friday afternoon is an optional EPP (English Paper Piecing) Workshop with Giuseppe starting at 1:30 pm. The Kit includes fabrics, paper pieces, acrylic templates, thread & more... just bring yourself, a pair of small scissors and a favorite piece of black & white print fabric with interest. (10" sq will work) 

Giucy will cover more than the basics of EPP. Color selection, focusing on value is important in making your blocks "pop", use acrylic templates the GG way... more than just a cutting edge, plus supplies to make your stitching easier. Learn how to design/layout a quilt using EPP blocks and more. This is a workshop not to be missed!

Saturday's all day workshop features a custom small quilt showcasing a variety of quilting techniques. Workshop fee with GG is included with retreat, a nominal $20 kit fee to cover pattern & materials is payable at event.

Finish your projects on Sunday... who wants a UFO to bring home! Giucy Giuce will be around for questions. Lunch is a make your own sandwich bar with lots of "fixings".  Take a leisurely lunch before you travel or grab & go to keep sewing.  It's been a blast.  We look forward to seeing you at our next retreat.
