Cherry is a professional fabric and pattern designer from Cherry Blossoms Quilting Studio. She loves fabric, color, polka dots, and spending lots of time stitching and at her sewing, longarm machines. Her patterns and prints are wonderful and whimsical and so popular. Cherry hopes that her work will inspire you to create something beautiful today. Cherry  has loved fabric since an early age! She enjoys playing with color and designing beautiful, bright projects with a traditional/modern feel.

Hands On coloring and project finishing sessions are Cherry's cup of tea! She makes it all seem so easy and she shares her secret tips with a smile. You won't want to miss what she has planned for 2026!

A Checklist of What to Bring is emailed a couple months prior to the retreat. PLUS this checklist is available in the Itinerary on the Mobile App! This list has been compiled over the years from attendees and you will find it quite helpful. To help you plan, here's a short list:

• Your stitching supplies, including a magnifying light if you use one

• Your sewing machine and general sewing supplies. We have machines/supplies you can use as most of the weekend is handwork!

• Projects you want to work on 

We make it easy for you to pack. There is no specific supply list for the workshops. Everything you need will be in the kit, with the possible exception of machine thread. We know everyone's machine has their favorite! Fabric choices will be selected will be sent in advance. 

• Berry Hill is an 1800s mansion on 650 acres
• Reserve your spacious sleeping room at our group rate by calling Berry Hill at (434) 517-7000. We have rooms blocked for you, so they may show sold out on line.
• Both Single and Double accommodations available
• Includes expanded Continental Breakfast
• A complete resort with hiking trails, 1800s mansion, spa, indoor pool, exercise facility, tennis courts

Payments can be made with credit cards, ACH debits from bank accounts, or checks

• Credit Card payments are subject to a 3% (3.5% Amex) fee
• Checks and ACH payments (direct debit from your bank account) have zero fees
• Checks may be sent to Salem Stitches, 832 S Main Street, Winston Salem, NC 27101 
• Auto payments may be setup
• Standard Payment Plan of 3 payments, though payments may be made at any time

Cancellation policy: The $100 deposit is non-refundable, but may be transferred to another retreat. 

If you cancel more than 120 days prior to the retreat, all monies paid, less deposit & processing fee will be transferred to another retreat or refunded to original payment source. More than 30 days prior,  monies not committed to vendors will be transferred to another retreat or refunded.  30 days or less before the retreat, refunds simply cannot be made. At any time, your payments may be transferred to a new attendee coming in your place.

OPTIONAL: Arrive early at 1 pm to get set up and start your weekend. Includes buffet dinner with an after dinner presentation by Miranda Weeks, the founder/owner of Weeks Dye Works!

Our morning kicks off with a Color Workshop featuring different techniques from the past two years... we promise you'll have fun and learn something new. Nominal fee for supplies will collected at retreat.

In the afternoon we will dive into a quick seasonal project. We know you'll be thrilled to see what Cherry is designing with Spring in mind. Plus we will start stitching a small project to be used in jewelry pendant/ornament.

Friday evening is social night! It's  a fun way to get to know everyone in the group. We will also have a stitching area with extra lighting if you need to work on finishing your pre-stitch project to be ready for Saturday.

Bring your Pre Stitching to today 's Finishing Workshop and finish a custom "organization" piece you will love!  Sneak peeks are not ready yet, but we are working on a Thread Butler, new thread organizer that travels with you in its Stitch n Go Bag. This is an all day workshop with so many finishing techniques you will use for other projects.

Project Day!  On our final day we will come together to finish all projects from the weekend.  Who wants to go home with unfinished projects? Cherry will be around for advice and consultation.
